The highly integrated CS5345 stereo audio analog-to-digital (A/D) converter provides designers with a solution that streamlines product development, reduces overall design complexity and cost, and delivers premium audio performance.

The CS5345 features an integrated analog front-end with 6:1 stereo input mux. Also included is a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) capable of ±12 dB of analog gain in 0.5 dB step sizes with zero-crossing, click-free transitions to maintain superior audio quality. One pair of inputs has a dedicated microphone pre-amplifier in its path that provides 32 dB of gain and a low-noise microphone bias supply is also available.

The stereo A/D conversion is based on multibit Delta-Sigma architecture. The CS5345 supports 24-bit conversion and sample rates up to 192 kHz. A high-pass filter is included for DC offset removal and a dedicated pin is available for detecting overflow conditions.

The CS5345 operates from either a 3.3 V or 5 V power supply. It has 1.8 V to 5 V logic power supplies for the control and serial port, which allows a direct interface to external processors or microcontrollers without level shifting.

The CS5345 delivers professional quality at a break-through price point for applications such as DVD recorders and receivers, digital video recorders/personal video recorders, digital TVs, set-top boxes, home media centers, automotive entertainment systems, musical instruments and PC sound cards.
